How does krishna die in mahabharata

In any case, during his travels, Rama comes across Sugreeva, an exiled monkey king who claims to be wronged by his brother, Vali.

Rama agrees to help Sugreeva and fires a fatal shot from behind a thicket. When Vali learns of his true slayer, he seeks from Rama the permission to kill him in his next life, a boon that Rama grants. Cut to the end of the Kurukshetra battle when Gandhari is mourning the loss of her sons. Krishna smiles and says tathastu, or so be it, setting into motion the final round of events that would bring an end of the Yadava clan, to which he belonged.

In the years following the Kurukshetra war, the Yadavas had grown to be quite unruly. The clan itself was divided in part due to the fact that different factions had fought on opposing sides of the war. The growing mistrust and disdain for each other only grew over the years, as did their arrogance. Since they were no ordinary sages, they saw through the trick and cursed that Samba would deliver a lump of iron that would cause the death of the entire race.

The next morning, Samba developed labour pains and delivered an iron mace. In his wisdom, Akrura suggested that the mace be crushed into a powder and that the powder be thrown into the sea. So they threw it into the sea without crushing it and went on with their lives. However, as with everything thrown into the sea, the mace powder was washed up on the shoreline and from the soil, blades of a mysterious grass began to grow. Several years later, the Yadavas had gathered on the shore for a celebration that got out of hand.

No one was carrying any weapons so they began pulling out the blades of grass that, by now, had grown tall. This was because the Kauravas followed the Kshatriya dharma while the Pandavas were prideful of their skills, their looks, and Dharma. Srimad Bhagavatam says that what happened after Krishna died is merely the left out Karma of the past actions. The lord says that he desired to let the tragic events happen so that the world learns the lesson of KarmaKarma.

The lord says that one has to take responsibility for his actions and accept the harvests with a full heart. Dwapara Yuga changed to Kali Yuga by the end of the battle at Kurukshetra. The start of the Kali Yuga, as mentioned in sacred texts, was miserable and tragic with the demolition of the Yadava clan and the death of Krishna.

The knowledge and usage of divine powers ceased to exist in this Yuga. It is believed that Krishna taught a part of his divine knowledge to Janamejaya, son of Parikshit. He was asked to keep his knowledge confidential as Kali Yuga would be filled with people who misuse power and knowledge. What happened after Krishna died is merely a turn of events that the world will undergo in Kali Yuga, as mentioned in sacred texts. What happened after Krishna died cannot be defined as a start or end to something.

It explains the relativity and connectivity in life and what we call Karma and destiny. The important lesson we need to learn from what happened after Krishna died is that, as human beings who are mortal, we have to undergo situations that are consequences of our past actions. When the supreme God, in his human form, suffered a painful death because of works, we need to learn to take responsibility for our actions.

We need to be conscious of our Dharma. We should always remind ourselves that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Krishna is a great soul who died like a mortal. His death, as per Mahabharat, is the consequence of his Karma and curse. God, according to Bhagvadgeeta, is ajonijana which means He has no birth or death. Sri Krisna was born to human parents Devaki and Vasudev.

He was also killed by Jara who attacked him with an arrow made with remnant of musal delivered by Sambh. God is Parambramh who has no physical form. It is the supreme spirit that is Omniscient, Omnipotent and need not be Omnipresent. If it is Omnipresent, there will be no need for reincarnation or avataran of great souls. They immediately rushed with the mace to Akroora and Ugrasena and in the presence of Krishna himself; they narrated the weird tide of events. Akroora immediately ordered them to grind the mace to a fine powder and cast it into the seas.

The Yadavas nodded and retreated. Akroora cast his gaze at Krishna, his eyes full of questions. Krishna simply smiled back. Does that ring any bell? A son like the god of destruction! The time for her curse to act has arrived.

They had grinded the mace finely. Everything was alright and grinded to pieces except a sharp triangular piece which appeared to be very hard indeed.

And then they had thrown the fine powder and the lone piece into the sea. Happy that they had taken care of the matter so easily, they returned back to their general state of intoxication and bliss. Time rolled by and the triangular piece of the mace was swallowed by a fish. The fine powder, on the other hand, washed back ashore and deposited itself by the beautiful coast of Dwaraka. A certain grass grew in lush abundance in the area where the powder was deposited.

Everything was set for the final showdown. The Yadavas soon forgot all about their curses. The consumption of alcohol was banned in the entire kingdom of Dwaraka. However, after 36 years of Mahabharat war, lots of omen started appearing in the Dwaraka city. The Sudarshana chakra, Panchajanya shankh, the chariot of lord Krishna and the plough weapon of Balarama disappeared from earth. One day, the Yadavas gathered on the beach. The liquor that they drank made them lose their senses completely.

They started teasing one another, bringing up the gory pasts and gruesome mistakes of each other. Satyaki and Krithavarma acted as the starting points of the doom of Dwaraka. They taunted one another, bringing back memories of the horrific war. In a fit of rage, Satyaki, jumped on Krithaverma and cut his head off. The friends of Krithavarma pounced on Satyaki and a great brawl followed. But a common question arises that if Krishna is God himself then how God can die. Also if he died, then how?

Who has the power to kill him? After the Kurukshetra war ended, there was destruction everywhere. Pandavas in spite of winning the war were not happy. Blindfolded Gandhari was shedding tears seeing the death of her 99 sons in the battle.

According to her, this mass killing can be avoided. Krishna and Pandavas came up to her, to offer apologies and condolences. But suddenly her grief turned into vengeance. Is that what you wanted from your own creation.

I have requested you each and every day to avert this horrific event from happening but you did not answer my prayers. Ask your mother, Devaki, the pain of losing a child. Seven of her children were killed just after their birth and now hundred of my children have been killed in the war, the war that can be avoided if you wish to do so. After hearing this, Krishna laughed gently. What kind of a person are you? Then the moment arrived, which probably Krishna knew already when Gandhari curses Krishna saying if her devotion towards Lord Vishnu is true and if she is true to her husband then 36 years from today, you will die and Dwaraka will be flooded and your entire Yadava clan will be destroyed, the same way you made kins of Kuru to kill one another.

Soon after cursing Krishna, she realised that she gets carried away and feel down on her knees and starts crying. Krishna lifted her up and smile. I know this well. I am endeavouring to bring it about. In uttering this curse, O thou of excellent vows, thou hast aided me in the accomplishment of that task.

The Vrishnis are incapable of being slain by others, be they human beings or gods or Danavas. He said to her that your curse will take effect not only because of her true devotion towards him but due to the fact that change is inevitable and that change is the law of the universe. He knew that someday, everything is going to change. Yadavas under his protection were very powerful and nobody could defeat them. So when Gandhari curses Krishna, he was very happy as now he has the reason which led to the destruction of his own race.

Otherwise, his own race will become a burden on Earth. Years passed by. Yudhishthira becomes the king of Hastinapura. He turned out to be an excellent king. Everyone was living happy, peaceful and luxurious life. After visiting many places, they visited Dwarka to meet Lord Krishna and his elder brother Balarama.

A group of Yadava boys on seeing the sages decided to play a prank on them to test their powers. They dress up Samba, the son of Krishna and Jambavati, like a woman and make him look like a pregnant woman.
