How does blizzard catch bots

You know, like any other security detail. The delay between player reports and investigation and finally banning just doesn't cut it. Blizz rather cut costs wherever they can, anticheat is one of them.

Even couple of volunteers running through hotspots would catch more bots then Blizz ever did during Classic. I would kill those Initiates outside of BT back in the day on my warrior, hoping for a Blinkstrike.

Please don't report me if I decide to again. Ahh I was so sad when they nerfed Mechanar chest farming in 2. Hardware, IP, name, and payment ban forever any account found doing this. Additionally blizzard needs to eliminate sub fee discrepancies between countries by bringing up and down for certain countries sub costs equal to the US Dollar. Lastly, restrict all initial payment methods for accounts to require an actual payment rather than gold conversion to blizz balance aka using retail gold to make new WoW account for subs for the first month or so for new accounts.

Also restrict the ability to create non-primary WoW accounts on the same Blizz account for the first month or so as well. You have to make it economically inefficient for people to do this and you do it by creating barriers and adjusting differences in currency power.

It should be no wonder why the boosting organization Gallywix had someone in the Balkans running the RMT. Because the living wage there is way lower than the rest of Europe, thus it became very profitable to sell gold at lower price points than if it was hosted out of Germany, a Nordic country, UK or the US.

Overall, not a big deal though. I'm very pro wow token for Classic TBC at this point. I don't think Blizzard cares enough about in game economy to hurt their real life economy at this point, so hoping for an actual solution is likely a pipe dream.

At least the wow token keeps the trade amongst players and not bots. Of course they were still there. Bots had been reported as reaching Legend rank. In August a statement was made on the official forums by the game's developers: [3].

In October an official blog announced the temporary banning of several thousand accounts in connection with botting. Furthermore, the previous warnings of potential penalties were replaced by a clear statement that "From this point on, accounts found to be cheating will be permanently closed without warning. While many players considered this punishment too lenient, preferring the botters to be stripped of their cards, gold, rank and other rewards gained through their illegal actions, the developers stated that part of the reason for this was making allowances for new players, who might not have understand the seriousness of their actions.

However, it was later announced that those players would be stripped of all ranked wins, automatically removing any golden heroes or progress toward them. On November 12, , it was announced that the first permanent bans following the previous announcement had been enacted, closing the accounts of several thousand Hearthstone players found to be cheating. Certain behaviours of many bots can be used to identify them as such. However, there is no way to tell for certain whether the opponent is being controlled by a player or a bot, despite the quickness of many players to assume the latter.

It should also be noted that many different types of bot exist, and it is therefore possible for some bots to exhibit certain signs, while others do not. Accounts suspected of using botting software can be reported to hacks blizzard. Players are encouraged to include as much detail as possible. How does Blizzard identify bots?

Community General Discussion. As the title says … I often engage in repetitive activities, for example standing in the same spot in Suramar killing mobs for gold and mats.

I hope you took a screenshot. This is not acceptable. I have multiboxed for 11 years and have never had that happen. Is your friend a large scale boxer that stands still for many hours with 10 characters? Here is a Blizzard response to me asking to farm outdoors with my characters for mounts: [Album] Imgur.

I always thought botting was more of an AH problem tbh! If the botters knew then they would be able to mitigate the issue and escape detection.

Thanks Well I hope just reporting the player will do the job, but seriously, who would bot with a level character? According to that Suramar multiboxer broke tos. They disturpt farm of other people.
